Product Description
BioPack's custom coffee tins combine a rigid metal body, reusable screw cap and optional one-way degassing valve for whole bean and ground coffee.
Unlike general-purpose decorative tins, this coffee tin canister can be developed around the actual coffee being packed — including fill weight, bean density, headspace, degassing requirement, closure and retail positioning.
BioPack supplies custom coffee tins with screw caps and optional one-way degassing valves for whole bean and ground coffee. Sizes, printing, finishes, closure systems and valve configurations can be customized. For premium and subscription coffee brands, the tin can also be paired with recyclable or compostable refill pouches to create a reusable coffee packaging system.

OEM and private-label development
Freshly roasted coffee continues to release carbon dioxide after roasting. At the same time, oxygen exposure can contribute to aroma loss and coffee staling.
A one-way degassing valve gives internally generated gas a controlled route out of the package while limiting reverse airflow through the valve.
For this reason, BioPack does not treat the valve as a stand-alone accessory. Its specification should be considered together with:
roast-to-pack time;
whole bean or ground coffee;
filling volume;
available headspace;
screw-cap sealing;
storage period;
transportation conditions.
For coffee packed shortly after roasting, this is particularly important.

This format works well for single-origin coffee, limited releases and higher-value retail lines where packaging presentation is part of the purchasing experience.
BioPack can supply both reusable custom coffee tins and high-barrier refill coffee pouches. And customized recyclable PE-based, compostable, or conventional high-barrier refill pouches depending on the required market, barrier performance and sustainability target.
Custom tins are also suitable for:
seasonal coffee collections;
premium gift sets;
private-label coffee;
café merchandise;
corporate gifting;
origin discovery sets.
Different SKUs can share one base design while using color, typography or origin graphics to distinguish roast profiles and coffee origins.

For many coffee brands, this should not be treated as an either/or decision.
Choose a coffee tin when you need:
premium shelf presentation;
reusable packaging;
rigid protection;
gift positioning;
strong long-term brand visibility.
Choose a flexible pouch when you need:
lower packaging weight;
efficient shipping;
lower storage volume;
faster filling;
lightweight refill packaging.
For premium and subscription coffee brands, one practical model is:
Reusable Coffee Tin + High-Barrier Refill Pouch
This allows the rigid package to remain in use while repeat purchases move through a lighter packaging format.
A coffee tin has a very different visual impact from a flexible pouch.
Because the package is rigid and often kept after purchase, we normally recommend avoiding overly dense artwork. Strong typography, clear origin information and restrained use of finishes often work better for premium coffee tins.
Available customization may include:
full-surface printed branding;
Pantone-matched colors;
matte or gloss finish;
metallic visual effects;
embossed logo;
roast-level identification;
origin and tasting notes;
QR codes;
batch or brewing information.
For multi-SKU coffee ranges, the same structural tin can be retained while artwork elements are changed to create a consistent product family.
Can you make 250g custom coffee tins?
Yes. 250g is a common specialty coffee format. However, final dimensions should be based on the actual volume of the coffee rather than nominal weight alone.
Do all coffee tins need a degassing valve?
No. The need for a valve depends on the coffee, roast-to-pack interval and packaging process. Coffee packed shortly after roasting generally requires more consideration of CO₂ release.
Is a screw-top coffee tin airtight?
A screw cap provides a secure reusable closure, but sealing performance depends on the entire lid construction. A suitable liner or gasket may be recommended when higher sealing performance is required.
Can BioPack make matching refill bags?
Yes. We can develop recyclable, compostable and conventional high-barrier coffee refill pouches to match the tin size, branding and coffee format.
Can different coffee origins use the same tin?
Yes. One structural format can be shared across several SKUs while artwork, color or product information changes between origins or roast profiles.
What is the MOQ?
MOQ depends on dimensions, tooling, printing process, finishes and number of artwork designs. Send us your target quantity and specifications for a project-based quotation.
A good coffee tin is more than a metal container.
The tin size, screw closure, valve, headspace and coffee itself need to work together.
BioPack helps coffee roasters and brands develop custom coffee tins from packaging concept through printing and production, with matching refill pouch options available when a reusable packaging model is required.
