Product Description
Clear presentation, a more stable base, and a compostable material option in one retail-ready format.
BioPack manufactures home compostable gusseted bottom cello bags with cardboard inserts for bakery, confectionery, gift, craft and specialty food packaging. The expandable base creates extra room for the product, while the internal paperboard insert keeps the pack flatter, neater and easier to display.
This format is particularly useful when a standard flat cello bag looks too loose, collapses after filling or does not provide enough support for delicate products.
Available as plain wholesale bags or fully customized packaging with printed film, branded inserts, tailored gusset depth and application-specific closure options.
Best suited for dry, lightweight products that benefit from clear visibility and structured presentation.

The transparent film keeps the product visible, which is important for visually driven categories such as:
Decorated cookies and biscuits
Chocolates, truffles and fudge
Candy and marshmallows
Dried fruit and specialty snacks
Tea sachets and product samples
Wedding favors and party gifts
Handmade soap and craft products
Jewelry cards and small accessories
Seasonal gift assortments
Boutique and farmers' market products
The package can be supplied in compact formats for single products or deeper gusseted sizes for grouped items and gift sets.
Products with high oil content, high moisture, sharp edges or demanding shelf-life requirements should be reviewed before material selection.
The film provides the familiar crisp, transparent appearance associated with cello-style packaging while offering a compostable material route for selected applications.
Depending on the project, BioPack may recommend a cellulose-based transparent film or another suitable home-compostable structure.
The gusset allows the bag to accommodate thicker products and helps create a more three-dimensional shape after filling.
The depth should be matched to the actual product arrangement. A gusset that is too shallow restricts filling, while an oversized gusset can make the pack look loose.
The insert supports the bottom and improves the way the product sits inside the bag.
The insert can remain plain or carry branding, ingredients, usage information, QR codes or sustainability guidance.

The gusset, insert width and product footprint need to work as one system. BioPack checks the relationship between these elements before production rather than supplying a generic bag with a separate board.
Material selection is based on how the package will be filled, closed, stored and displayed, not only on a film name or sustainability claim.
Our work includes cellulose films, compostable laminates, paper-based structures and alternative flexible packaging. This experience helps us identify where clarity, barrier, sealing or storage performance may differ from conventional BOPP bags.
BioPack works with packaging distributors, bakery suppliers, food manufacturers, private-label brands and retail companies. Support can include sampling, artwork checks, carton planning, export packing and shipment coordination.
Are these bags made from genuine cellophane?
The market often uses "cello bag" as a general description for clear, crisp packaging. BioPack can supply cellulose-based transparent film or another suitable compostable clear film, depending on the project requirements.
Can the bags stand by themselves?
The gusset and cardboard insert improve stability, but standing performance also depends on the product weight, bag width, insert thickness and how the contents are arranged.
Are they suitable for cookies and confectionery?
Yes, for many dry bakery and confectionery applications. The exact film should be checked against product moisture, oil content, storage conditions and target shelf life.
Can the top be heat sealed?
Selected film grades can be heat sealed. Sealing temperature and dwell time should be tested because compostable films may not use the same settings as conventional polypropylene.
Can both the bag and insert be printed?
Yes. The transparent film and paperboard insert can be printed separately or used together as a coordinated package.
Is the full package home compostable?
That depends on the film, insert, inks, adhesives and closure components. BioPack reviews the complete construction before supporting a finished-package claim.
Can we order custom sizes?
Yes. Width, height, gusset depth, film thickness, insert dimensions and closure can be customized.
Are samples available?
Yes. Material samples and custom-sized samples can be arranged for filling, sealing and presentation testing.
A clear gusseted bag with a cardboard insert is a practical option when your product needs visibility, a more stable base and a cleaner retail presentation.
BioPack can help define the film, gusset, board and closure around your product instead of forcing the product into a standard bag size.
