Cellophane
Product Description

BioPack manufactures premium gusseted cellophane bags for food producers, bakeries, confectionery brands, gift companies and packaging distributors.
The expandable side or bottom gussets provide more internal space than a flat cello bag, making the format suitable for stacked cookies, chocolates, popcorn, baked goods, dried foods and irregularly shaped retail products. The transparent film keeps the product visible while providing space for printed branding, labels, ribbons or paperboard inserts.
Rather than offering only fixed stock sizes, BioPack develops the bag around the product dimensions, pack weight, filling method, closure style and required shelf life.

The gusset depth is calculated according to the actual product thickness and packing arrangement. A correctly sized gusset helps the bag expand evenly and reduces excessive wrinkles, stretched seams and an underfilled appearance.
One material does not suit every product. A dry cookie, oily chocolate, fresh bread and handmade soap may all require different film properties.
Material recommendations are based on product protection and processing requirements rather than appearance alone.
Logos, patterns and product information can be printed while leaving a large clear area to display the contents.
Artwork is reviewed before production to check print position, transparency, barcode size and the use of environmental claims.
The bags can be adapted for hand packing, retail display or heat-sealing applications.
The final closure should be selected according to the product's freshness and display requirements.
BioPack gusseted cellophane bags are used across bakery, confectionery, specialty food and gift markets.
Typical applications include:
Bakery products: decorated cookies, biscuits, shortbread, brownies, breadsticks, pretzels and small loaves.
Confectionery: chocolates, truffles, candy, fudge, marshmallows, gummies, caramel and seasonal assortments.
Dry foods and snacks: popcorn, granola, nuts, dried fruit, crackers, herbs, pasta and tea products.
Retail and gifts: party favors, handmade soap, candles, craft products, promotional kits and seasonal gift packs.
For oily, high-moisture or long-shelf-life foods, BioPack recommends evaluating the barrier properties and sealing performance with the actual product before confirming mass production.

A paperboard insert gives the base additional support and helps lightweight products remain level inside the package.
This option is commonly used for decorated cookies, chocolates, gift assortments and delicate bakery products. It can also improve shelf presentation and create an additional surface for branding or product information.
Insert options include:
Natural kraft board
White paperboard
Black paperboard
Food-contact paperboard
Custom-printed inserts
Custom shapes and dimensions
The insert size should be matched to the internal width and gusset depth rather than selected separately.
Are gusseted cellophane bags food safe?
They can be produced using food-contact-compliant materials and inks. The appropriate documents depend on the selected film and the regulations of the destination market.
Are all cello bags made from cellulose?
No. Many bags sold as cello bags are made from BOPP or CPP. BioPack confirms the exact film material before production.
Are these bags compostable?
Selected cellulose-based films are available with home or industrial compostability certification. Compostability must be verified for the exact film, coating, ink and complete packaging structure.
Can the bags be heat sealed?
Yes. Heat-sealable cellulose, BOPP and CPP grades are available. Sealing conditions should be tested using the final production film.
Can the bags stand upright?
Some bottom-gusseted bags sit more evenly after filling, especially when used with a cardboard insert. They are less rigid than laminated stand-up pouches, so stability depends on the product weight and bag dimensions.
Can BioPack print small custom orders?
Digital printing may be available for selected materials and project sizes. The practical minimum quantity depends on the dimensions, film and number of designs.
Can you customize cardboard inserts?
Yes. BioPack can customize the dimensions, color, thickness and printing of the insert.
Which material is best for cookies?
The choice depends on the cookie's oil content, moisture sensitivity, expected shelf life and closure method. BioPack can recommend a film after reviewing the actual product and packaging conditions.
A premium clear bag should do more than display the product. It should fit correctly, protect the contents, work with the filling process and support accurate material claims.
BioPack develops custom gusseted cellophane bags for food manufacturers, bakeries, confectionery brands, gift companies and packaging distributors. Our team can help you select the material, dimensions, gusset depth, printing and closure for your specific application.
